In an effort to put together thoughts and further my love for writing, here is a blog. I can't guarantee that it will be any good but that's ok. "When You Come Back Down" is a song written by Nickel Creek. Nickel Creek was the soundtrack to my childhood. I clearly remember their albums being played in my home or during long car rides from California to Montana. Because of Sarah Watkins, I learned how to play the violin in the 5th grade. So why have this song be the title to the blog, one may ask? Well, the song is all about one character encouraging the other character to go out and chase their dream. Yes, there is the concern that the person will "crash and burn" but even still the writer is encouraging the character to go out and do something. What's reassuring about this song is the fact that the writer is saying that, no matter what happens, that they will be there "to catch them when they fall." So still "why have this song as the title?" This song reminds me of God. He equips people with dreams and desires and gives people the stamina to go and do and live for him. The truth of the matter is that a lot of the time we mess up. We fall off the track. We lose sight of what we were meant to do. But y'know what? That's ok. God still uses us, with our sin and baggage and all. The important part is that we remember what God has done for us. He is the good one. The hero of it all.
So, here is a blog. I hope to live out my life and do whatever I was created to do. Yes, I'm going to mess up but God is good and will still use me. In this life, he is what holds me together. The one who keeps me sane and for that I am thankful.
